Trafficking of Males:

The Silent Victims

 Tuesday, December 14th, 2021
1:00pm Eastern

Join USCSAHT for this informative webinar on

The Silent Victims of Trafficking- Males.

"Men and boys can be bought and sold just like girls. Yet there is very little education or resources available for male survivors." States December webinar speaker, consultant, trainer and trauma therapist, Steven Procopio ACSW, LICSW. Steven has been a vital part of the Unitas.ngo team developing "LIGHTS" Prevention Education Curriculum that has been implemented in school districts in NYC, Washington DC and elsewhere.

A 2016, the Department of Justice commissioned the organization "Youth Involvement in the Sex Trade"  and found boys consist of 36% of those victimized by the commercial sex trade. (Females are 60% and 5% estimated to be transgendered.) This is almost double as to what was previously thought and is generally stated in educational trainings. Additionally, a 2008 report from John Jay School of Criminal Justice found that trafficked boys are 45% of those being commercially exploited in New York City.

Joining Steven for this thought provoking webinar will be advocate, speaker and educator for anti- trafficking initiatives Cristian Eduardo. He is a survivor of international and domestic, sex & labor trafficking and a survivor consultant with Shobana Powell Consulting and ECPAT-USA. In 2013, a report by ECPAT-USA concluded that "the scope of boys being trafficked is vastly underreported.

We look forward to seeing you on Dec. 14th at 1pm EST!
